The success of the University of Georgia’s Blue Key tradition is due in large part to the financial support provided by Blue Key alumni and friends. That support is critical to the future well-being of this important service and leadership-recognition student organization.
Financial contributions to UGA Blue Key are important for several reasons. First and foremost, new Blue Key initiates are not required to pay dues or an initiation fee. The one-time fee for national Blue Key dues is paid from funds contributed by UGA Blue Key alumni. UGA Blue Key strongly believes that selection for membership should be based solely on merit — and not on the basis of writing a check for dues. This practice means that no individual chosen for UGA Blue Key membership is faced with turning down the offer due to lack of personal means.
Second, contributions from UGA Blue Key alumni and friends continue the tradition of the Tucker Dorsey Scholarship which is awarded each year to outstanding Blue Key members in memory of the late Tucker Dorsey, the student credited with starting an annual Blue Key Awards Banquet.
Third, alumni support provides the funding needed to continue the overall programs of UGA Blue Key. The students of Blue Key are especially grateful for support from three major sponsors: AT&T, UGA Alumni Association, and the Richard B. Russell Foundation.
Gifts in support of Blue Key are needed to keep this historic student organization at the forefront of campus leadership programs. Please direct your personal gifts in support of UGA Blue Key to:
