UGA Honors Program receives $1 million gift from Jane Willson
The University of Georgia Honors Program has received a $1 million gift
from Jane S. Willson of Albany that will enable honors students to study
abroad.

Ten UGA Honors Students Awarded Crane Leadership Scholarships
Ten University of Georgia Honors Program students have been awarded
William Moore Crane Leadership Scholarships for the 2005-2006 academic
year. Administered by the Honors Program and the Student Leadership
Center, this scholarship recognizes third- and fourth-year Honors
students who have a demonstrated record of high academic achievement
and outstanding leadership.

UGA Blue Key chapter to honor Stuckey, Albersheim, Bryan and Carr

a former Georgia congressman, a pioneering UGA scientist and one

University of Georgia spring commencement address delivered by L.
Travis Canova
L. Travis Canova of Rome was the student speaker for University of
Georgia undergraduate commencement May 14 in UGA's Sanford Stadium.
Canova, who received a bachelor's degree in business administration,
was chosen by fellow students to represent his graduating class in
the commencement exercises.

Former UGA President Charles Knapp to join Institute of Higher Education
Former UGA President Charles B. Knapp is coming back to the university – this
time as a teacher. Knapp, who was president from 1987 to 1997 and holds
the title of President Emeritus, will join UGA’s Institute of
Higher Education this fall on a part-time basis as a Distinguished
Public Service Fellow.

UGA Honors student awarded Marshall Scholarship
Matthew Crim, a senior Honors student from Cartersville, has been selected
as a 2005 Marshall Scholar. This is the third consecutive year that a UGA
student has received this prestigious award to study in the United Kingdom.
A 2004 Truman Scholarship recipient, Crim is the first UGA student to win
both the Truman and Marshall Scholarships.

UGA Blue Key to honor Barnes, Sentell, Willson and Sanford
The University of Georgia chapter of Blue Key Honor Society will recognize
a former Georgia governor, a legendary university professor and two
of UGA’s leading supporters at the annual Blue Key Awards banquet
Oct. 8.
The society will present the 40th annual Blue Key Awards to Roy
E. Barnes, who was governor from 1999-2003; R. Perry Sentell Jr.,
who taught law at UGA for 46 years; Jane Seddon Willson, president
of Sunnyland Farms, Inc., in Albany; and Charles S. Sanford Jr.,
retired chairman and CEO of Bankers Trust Corp.
